We explained earlier that the Icecat Toy Data Model is a joint initiative with the toy industry. As a result, we have become a market leader, making the content available in 70+ languages and introducing the data model to other countries.
Over the past years, Icecat has noticed an increasing demand from retailers and marketplaces to receive structured toy product content. Therefore, global toy brands have signed up for Open Icecat over the past couple of years to offer their partners the product content for free. This resulted in almost 100 toy brands in Icecat that now structure their product content inspired by the NPD taxonomy.
In the Icecat catalog, all the free users can now download the product content from all the below toy brands:
Icecat monitors which toy brands are the most popular on the market. This popularity is measured based on searches, downloads, and data requests. Icecat also monitors brand analytics per country, which can be interesting for a brand’s local business representatives. Furthermore, Icecat also publishes a Brand Average Review Score, which includes the total number of reviews contributing to the score calculation. Finally, the data health score is visible. The brand data health completeness score is the average of the completeness scores of all product data sheets of a brand’s products, ranging from main products to supplies and spare parts. Again, brand editors can see the color-changing of completeness.
