Icecat Hexagon is Icecat’s internal platform for connecting retailers, Akeneo users, and marketplaces like Mirakl. It also includes a built-in Digital Asset Management (DAM) system that offers centralized control over product assets.
This month’s release focuses on seamless collaboration, advanced asset management, and powerful automation—helping you achieve more with less effort.
Complete Collaboration: Full Control Over Shared Trade Items
We’ve now completed our vision for sharing by adding automatic trade item sharing to our existing action and taxonomy capabilities. When two organizations establish a relationship, all owned trade items are instantly shared, giving both parties immediate access to each other’s product catalogs. If a relationship ends, shared trade items are automatically unshared, ensuring your data remains secure and under your control.
Shared trade items remain read-only for the receiving organization, and all existing rules—such as exclusivity, embargoes, and channel management—are always respected. This update delivers a fully unified, transparent, and controlled collaboration system across all entity types.
Enhanced Image Management: Full Support for Annotated Product Images
Annotated product images from Icecat are now automatically identified during synchronization with a new “Is annotated” flag. You can also manually flag or unflag images directly in the UI. For even greater flexibility, the “SelectImage” built-in now includes an option to exclude annotated images from your exports—ideal for creating clean, text-free catalogs.
This update ensures seamless integration of annotated images while giving you full control over how they’re managed and exported.
Streamlined Data Processing: New Workflow Blocks for Icecat Integration
We’re continuing to build out our Icecat FTP integration workflow with two powerful new blocks:
These additions build on our earlier work (FTP polling and file unzipping) and bring us one step closer to a fully automated Icecat integration pipeline. The final piece, asset download and validation, is coming soon!
Automate Your Data Flow: Icecat XML Exports to Object Storage
Two new workflow blocks let you seamlessly fetch Icecat XML data and push it to your object storage—all automated, all in one place.
Enhanced Workflow Triggers: Instant Access to External Trade Item Data
The Start block now supports a new “External Trade Item Persisted” trigger. Your workflows can automatically launch whenever an external trade item is created or updated, providing immediate access to key data such as GTIN, Trade Item ID, category, brand, and Icecat ID.
This enhancement enables faster processing, better data synchronization, and more responsive automation—all without manual intervention.
Prioritize What Matters: Configurable Product Processing for Premium Needs
To ensure time-sensitive products are available to your partners faster, we’ve introduced configurable priority rules for product import, indexing, and precomputation.
Hexagon admins can now define rules based on supplier, category, brand, or taxonomy to accelerate processing for high-demand items—such as new video game releases or seasonal products—without disrupting standard workflows.
This premium feature helps you meet partner SLAs, adapt to business needs, and optimize resource allocation, all while maintaining system stability and performance.
