Icecat Hexagon is Icecat’s internal platform for connecting retailers, Akeneo users, and marketplaces like Mirakl. It also includes a built-in Digital Asset Management (DAM) system, offering centralized control over product assets.
This month’s releases bring smarter synchronization, improved performance, and enhanced collaboration tools, helping you work faster and adapt with ease
Hexagon x Akeneo: Enhanced Product Identification in API Acknowledgements
Building on our recent improvements to track and display Akeneo API acknowledgements, we’ve further refined the system to capture and store EAN values returned in Akeneo’s responses. With this update, Hexagon now fully supports both EAN and GUID identifiers, providing greater accuracy and flexibility when monitoring product submissions to external platforms like Akeneo.
Carrefour x Product Live: Acknowledgement Format Update
Our system now aligns with the latest acknowledgement format from Product Live for Carrefour product pushes. This update ensures seamless processing of enhanced validation details, improving feedback accuracy and reliability.
API Endpoint to Trigger Product Exports for Akeneo
A new API endpoint allows Akeneo environments to automatically trigger product exports from Hexagon. Clients can send product identifiers (GTINs) via API, and Hexagon handles the export using predefined configurations. Once the export is completed, the product data is automatically delivered to Akeneo in the client-specific format. This enables fully automated workflows, reducing manual operations and simplifying Akeneo integrations.
Mapping Tool Enhancements: Improved Usability & Performance
We are continuously enhancing Hexagon’s powerful mapping tool, designed to give all users full autonomy to build and manage transformations, from the simplest adjustments to the most advanced mapping scenarios, end to end.
In this release, we focused on making the experience more intuitive and efficient. Users can now directly link transformations to source or target categories, benefit from improved color schemes for better readability, and retain filter criteria as they navigate across pages. We also enabled opening multiple properties on new pages simultaneously, introduced clearer naming conventions, added translations, and included more explicit action labels.
On the performance side, we significantly improved transformation display speed, optimized drag-and-drop interactions, and enhanced overall responsiveness by reducing unnecessary backend calls.
These improvements are part of our ongoing effort to deliver a smoother, more user-friendly mapping experience.
Introduction of the “Sort by” Feature in DAM Media Library
Users now have greater control over asset organization with new sorting options:
This feature improves visibility of recently updated assets and streamlines navigation, enhancing team productivity and content management efficiency.
Streamlined Action Sharing: Granular Control Directly from the Entity List
Building on our organization-to-organization relationship features, users can now manage action sharing (import/export) directly from the entity list. Key improvements include:
This update reinforces our vision of user-centric, customizable collaboration within the Freemium PIM.
Hexagon to Icecat Export: Expanded Configuration Options
Users now have granular control over Icecat exports, with options to include:
This flexibility supports tailored synchronization between Hexagon and Icecat, adapting to diverse client needs.
Enhanced Import Flexibility: Force Full Product Import from Icecat
Internal users can now force a full product import from Icecat via the monitoring screen, complementing the existing “Import Updates Only” option. A confirmation modal ensures intentional use and provides comprehensive synchronization when needed.
