Vendor Services Nederland (VSN), a Dutch wholesaler specialized in home and entertainment software products that operates in the Benelux, has finalized the integration of Open Icecat (toys) data.
VSN supplies a wide range of products to different types of retailers in the Benelux. Customers of VSN include internet stores, music stores, electronics stores, book stores, wholesalers, game shops, video stores, and toy stores.
As a service partner, VSN aims to offer added value in the logistics and sales of physical products to partners in the retail channel. Therefore, with their extensive possibilities in the area of automation, Vendor Services Nederland will re-distribute the Open Icecat Data to their customers. As a result, the product information available in Icecat also indirectly reaches VSN customers who are not direct Icecat users.
Icecat developed a data model for toy brands. It is based on the input from the Icecat (toy) users, and the expertise of Icecat’s taxonomy team. In short, all toy categories are based on the Icecat taxonomy as inspired by the NPD categories. Similarly, also the specifications and values associated with them. Currently, the data model supports 60+ languages. Therefore, it is suitable to be expanded to other markets.
