In December 2020, there were 153 active brand editors using Icecat Free Brand Cloud. They modified 2080 products, 15K specs, 1578 descriptions, and added 322 product relations, 6469 product images, and 348 rich media objects. Although this represents less than 2% of our total editorial production during December, it is a tenfold increase from the previous year.
In total, the Icecat database contains now 8.8 million product datasheets. A 20% rise compared to the same period last year.
Icecat product datasheet downloads increased to 9.7 billion in 2020. An increase of 75% compared to the previous year. One of the reasons is the growth in the number of registrations by 53%. Especially since the first lockdown, we see a rise in the number of spontaneous registrations as retailers are looking for free product content to publish in their e-commerce environment, and brands are registering for the Free Brand Cloud to boost e-commerce. Further, the number of actively downloading user platforms increased by 18%. And, finally, the number of product views by visitors on the Icecat portal increased by a staggering 466%. Not just brand users and channel partners, but also more consumers and professional buyers are browsing the Icecat pages. To understand products, view videos, and manuals, and look for compatible spare parts. This also leads to an improved ranking of the icecat portal on Similarweb (38% improved ranking) and Alexa (29% improved ranking).
The number of visitors to Iceclog almost doubled in 2020. Compared to 2019, the number of visitors expanded by 194%. In 2021, we will pass the mark of two million visits. More importantly, the number of visitors shows steady growth after SEO improvements.
