Spanish Leading IT Distributor Megasur Opens Platform to Get Content Directly from Brands

Megasur, a major IT distributor or mayorista in Spain, opens its platform for 3rd party product data. This to improve its shopping experience. The distributor advises its supplier brands to use the Free Icecat Vendor Central to complete their respective product content. MegaSur chooses Icecat as it’s globally the No 1 content syndicator according to SimilarWeb.

Megasur opens platform

The platform is opened further by Megasur by also allowing trusted vendors to sell their products on its webshop. For a distributor, this is a very unique approach. These vendors import thousands of new products in more than 20 categories. Given the trust associated with the brand Megasur, the mayorista wants to further improve the online customer experience by enriching product content.

Megasur has a long-standing relationship with Icecat. The distributor now takes the next step by allowing its brand suppliers to directly ingest rich media and other product content via the Free Vendor Central.

Which digital assets for Megasur?

Megasur asks its suppliers, manufacturers, to upload their product content into the Free Icecat Vendor Central. To ensure that the buyer experience on Megasur is as to how brand owners like it. The digital assets Megasur typically interests are, for example, specs, marketing texts, product images, reasons to buy, and product variants. And also, any other rich media asset that brand owners can provide such as videos, brochures, and manuals. Because great product content generates more sales for a brand owner and Megasur alike.
