Review: PlayStation 4 Pro offers spectacular resolutions

On a quiet afternoon, when my partner and I went out to buy some basic house supplies, asking me ‘We are not going to look for jeans, right?’, we actually ended up buying a PlayStation 4 and all its addons. No doubt, it is a time-consuming pleasure but I, anyway, liked the idea of such a small sin. I am not a frenzy player of my own, though I can fancy a game or two. Consequently, I did deep-dive into the whole concept of the PlayStation 4.

Spectacular specs..

The specs are really spectacular. From the game resolution of up to 1440 pixel, settings to increase the solution to approach 4K, to graphics with vivid landscapes, deep shadows, as well as enhanced colors. It makes games such as Formula 1, FIFA, and Grand Theft Auto very engaging. What’s also exciting is the access to TV & Music platforms such as Spotify and Netflix that are pre-installed. It eliminates the need for extra adapters and the hassle of connecting to your laptop.

However, there were also a couple of disadvantages. One of them is the noisiness when the device is being turned on, and when installing a game. Installing a game also requires longer time which is another con of the PlayStation. Lastly, the game storage is quite limited which means that there is only space for saving the most outstanding games or moments of the games.

Entirely recyclable

What got me wondering, also, was the amount of electricity it requires. There is the main body connected to the socket, but also to the TV. The main device is also quite light, made of plastic but it doesn’t mean it doesn’t use a lot of electricity. So I decided to do a research of my own.

Sony is a giant in its field. But with leading positions come great responsibility. I was not surprised to find an exhaustive page dedicated to the sustainability of the company, however it came as a pleasant surprise to me to discover a well-organized page only about the sustainability of the PlayStation 4 itself. What I established was that the product is actually entirely energy-efficient, and recyclable from the carton box to the engine itself. Sony claims that the models of PlayStation are improved throughout the years with some numbers in power saving: up to 80% in standby mode and up to 60% in gaming mode.

Pragmatic is the auto standby mode, featured in PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, and is activated after 20 minutes of inactivity. Perfect, for the more distracted people like myself!

To wrap it up..

So far, the spontaneous decision of getting the PlayStation 4 is more than engaging in a new hobby. I definitely recommend the PlayStation 4 based on gaming experience and price.
