During Q4 2021, Icecat continues its steady usage growth and closes the year with positive stats. We notice a slight decrease in new registrations, mainly because they were extremely high last year due to Covid-19. However, the Icecat catalog, Icecat’s blog, and social media networks show positive numbers, and we believe they will continue to grow in 2022.
The page views for the Icecat catalog website have seen a Y-o-Y rise of 36%. The growth in unique page views of icecat.biz compared to last year was 17%. The user database recorded a remarkable increase of 21% compared to 2020.
The exponential usage growth of our blog continued in 2021, with 121% more traffic compared to 2020. The unique visitors grew by 65% Y-o-Y, meaning we attract a significant portion of unique visitors of the overall traffic to our blog. The most popular contents among the new users were manuals. With our publishing consistency, we expect the traffic on our blog to continue growing in 2021.
We noticed a slight Y-o-Y decrease in Open Icecat registrations. However, this is mainly because we had a very successful 2020. We offered a helping hand and free assistance to online retailers looking to switch and adjust their online stores during the initial lockdowns caused by the pandemic. In this period, many retailers took the opportunity to improve their product pages with structured product content.
After reaching the 6K follower milestone on LinkedIn, the Y-o-Y report for our LinkedIn company page had an increase of 6.8%. Throughout 2022 Icecat’s marketing team will do its best to continue growing the LinkedIn page with compelling, comprehensive, and creative content.
