In these Icecat Release Notes 147, we will explain the new method for setting authorized users for uploaded videos via Media API. Further, we will discuss the implementation of the first stage of integration of Media API with Icecat Live. Please, find here the previous Icecat Release Notes.
In this release, we developed a new feature to assign authorized users for videos uploaded via Media API. Taking into consideration that video owners would like to protect their videos from further use by the other users we added an extra setting to the Media API. The authorized users’ parameter will allow asset owners to set the list of users who will have access to the particular video by simply specifying authorized users when uploading or editing the video.
Previously we announced the first milestone of the Media API launch. This gives users the possibility to upload videos to Icecat storage. The next step is to provide an integration between Media API and Icecat Live. This is in order to enable Icecat users to stream their media assets alongside the product content to their end customers using Icecat Live. To stream the Media API data, an additional caching layer to be able to handle the workload is now live.
