February 2026 – Icecat Hexagon Release Notes

This month, we’ve focused on refining your experience with smoother integrations, clearer workflows, and enhanced tools for imports, exports, and asset management. Here’s what’s new:

Integrations & Connectors

Icecat Integration Enhancements

To better meet user needs for customization and efficiency, we’ve upgraded the Icecat-to-Hexagon product import feature with two key improvements:

  1. Granular Data Selection for Tailored Imports. A new “Select Data Types to Import” section in the import settings modal lets users fine-tune their Icecat imports. While marketing data is always included by default, users can now choose to include or exclude images, videos, documents, or safety contacts (all pre-checked). Products are imported from Icecat in full, then filtered to retain only the selected data types. This flexibility aligns imports with specific workflows and reduces unnecessary data transfers.
  1. Streamlined Token Setup for Seamless Imports. Users can now set their Icecat token directly from the “Import products from Icecat” page, eliminating the need to navigate to the “Token Configurations” menu. If no valid token is found, a guided modal walks users through the process, including step-by-step instructions for retrieving their token from Icecat. Once saved, the token is automatically validated and stored, enabling uninterrupted imports. Overall Impact: These upgrades make the Icecat integration more intuitive, adaptable, and user-friendly, while optimizing import processes for diverse needs.

Secure Icecat API Exports Users can now select and integrate a dedicated Icecat token directly in the Transport Configuration menu. This ensures that all API exports to Icecat are securely authenticated, with tokens restricted to Icecat-specific credentials. A small but critical step toward safer, smoother data synchronization.

Enhanced Akeneo Integration: Clearer Export Feedback. We’ve improved how our Akeneo connector processes API responses, ensuring every product update is tracked with full transparency. Now, you’ll receive detailed feedback, including success statuses and error messages, for each product, making it easier to spot and resolve issues quickly.

Imports & Exports

Direct Excel Import for Mapping and Taxonomy Files. The Taxonomy and Transformations tabs now include an “Import” button, allowing users to upload Excel mapping and taxonomy files (.xlsx, .xls) directly from the UI. This feature enables bulk updates with automated processing, real-time validation, and a detailed report—ensuring all changes are immediately visible in the UI and reducing reliance on technical teams.

Flexible Image Resizing for Partner Exports. Now, customize image sizes to fit your partners’ exact requirements. Define minimum (enlarge) or maximum (reduce) dimensions for each export—images resize proportionally to preserve quality. Create multiple rules and generate tailored versions in a single export. Simple, precise, and ready for any partner specification.

Import Job Clarity Improvements We’ve rolled out a few subtle yet impactful updates to the Import Jobs tabs to make your experience smoother and more intuitive:

  • Resource Import Reports: Now access detailed reports for Resource Import Jobs – just like Product Import Jobs – with a consistent “View Report” button.
  • Error Badges: Quickly spot errors in Product Import reports with badges next to each section (Mapping, Business Rules, Persistence).
  • Clear Launch Feedback: Get immediate confirmation when launching an import, with a direct link to track progress.
  • Error Visibility: A new “Total Number of Errors” column in the Product Import Jobs table highlights problematic imports at a glance. These tweaks are part of our ongoing effort to refine clarity and usability.

Workflows & Data Management

Enhanced Workflow Clarity with Input/Output Types. As part of our ongoing efforts to simplify workflow creation in Hexagon, we’ve introduced Input and Output Type fields for Format and Transformation steps. These fields provide clear guidance on data compatibility, ensuring users can build workflows confidently and efficiently.

Improved Truncation for Cleaner Field Mapping. The built-in Trunc function now includes a “Truncate before next word” checkbox option. When enabled, truncation occurs at the last space before the character limit (e.g., 255 characters), ensuring no word is cut mid-way. This update ensures field mapping is compliant and readable across all output formats, while reducing manual cleanup for technical teams.

Asset Management

Manage Stand-Alone Assets in the DAM. You can now upload and update images in the Visuals Metadata Matrix without requiring a GTIN or MPN. This allows you to manage stand-alone digital assets directly in the DAM, independent of any product association. The process remains simple: Add the asset metadata to the dedicated Excel matrix (with no GTIN/MPN), import it into Hexagon, and the system handles the rest.
