Icecat Hexagon Release Notes – October 2026

Faster Enrichment. Clearer Mapping. Stronger Foundations.

Icecat Hexagon is Icecat’s internal platform for connecting retailers, Akeneo users, and marketplaces like Mirakl. It also includes a built-in Digital Asset Management (DAM) system that provides centralized control over product assets.

This month’s release brings real-time product enrichment to Icecat Hexagon: products can now reach the catalog as soon as they match an enrichment list. The release also makes mapping clearer and more flexible, adds QR code data to marketing content, and gives teams finer control over asset distribution. New push limits and live progress tracking make exports easier to control, while configurable layouts make Eligibility Reports more useful than ever. Behind the scenes, we continued strengthening the platform’s security and compliance.

Faster Product Enrichment

Enrichment lists let organizations tell Icecat Hexagon which products they want to receive from the Icecat catalog. This month, we made the journey from enrichment list to catalog both faster and more complete.

Real-Time Import on Match

Organizations no longer need to wait for the next daily synchronization to see new products in their catalog. A new “Real-time import on match” option in the Icecat import action lets Icecat Hexagon import a product as soon as it matches an entry of the enrichment list. The option is off by default, so each organization chooses when to switch to real-time enrichment. Once active, it applies to every new match from that point onward.

Automatic Matching of New Enrichment List Entries

Icecat Hexagon now checks every new line of an enrichment list against the full Icecat catalog and keeps track of each match. The daily Icecat import uses these matches as a starting point, so newly matched products reach the catalog even when Icecat hasn’t updated them recently. Import timing stays the same, and teams enjoy a more complete catalog with no extra configuration.

Clearer & More Flexible Mapping

Property Labels and Codes Side by Side

The Transformations › Properties screen now shows each property’s label in the Name column, next to a new Code column with its technical code. The property detail page displays both in its title. Mappers can identify the right property at a glance without switching to the Taxonomies screen, and the column naming now matches the Trade Item Properties screen for a consistent experience.

Reusable Transformation Sets for External Data

The Apply Transformation Set block in workflows now accepts two types of input: a Trade Item, as before, or a generic object. Teams can reuse their existing transformation sets to map data from external PIM systems into the Icecat Hexagon taxonomy before import, instead of rebuilding the same rules elsewhere. Existing workflows keep working exactly as before, and we updated the user documentation to cover the new option.

Richer Marketing Content

QR Code Data as Marketing Properties

Icecat Hexagon now imports the QR code information that Icecat holds for each product. Two new Marketing properties, “QR Code Url” and “Destination QR Code Url”, appear in the product’s Marketing group and fill in automatically at import. Users can view them and include them in export mappings just like any other Marketing property, making it easy to share QR code links with retail partners.

More Precise Asset Distribution

Channels define how Icecat Hexagon distributes product data and digital assets: to which target market, over which period, and to which partner network. This month’s release refines that control for assets delivered through file imports.

Product-Level Channel Settings for FTP Asset Imports

When an FTP asset import specifies a channel or a display index, Icecat Hexagon now applies it to the targeted product only. The asset’s default settings stay untouched, so other products sharing the same asset keep their own distribution rules. A new channel adds to any existing product-level settings rather than replacing them, and when a file carries no GTIN or Brand Product Code, the import updates the asset’s default channel instead. Users can review and adjust these settings at any time from the asset’s Channels and Trade Items tabs.

Smoother Export Control & Monitoring

Push Limits in Transport Configuration

Teams can now decide exactly how many files Icecat Hexagon sends to a partner over a given period. A new optional Push Limit setting in the Transport configuration combines a number of files with a period: per second, minute, hour or day. Combined with the number of trade items per file defined in the Format, it provides a clear, predictable sending pace. For example, 3 files of 2,000 trade items per hour means up to 6,000 trade items per hour. When an export needs more files, Icecat Hexagon automatically pauses and resumes at the right pace, so partners receive data at a rhythm they can absorb, with no manual follow-up.

Live Export Progress in Action History

The Action History tab now shows how far a running export has progressed, instead of a plain “In progress” label. The progress information updates as the export moves forward, so users always know where their export stands. Completed and failed statuses work as before.

Smarter Eligibility Reports

Eligibility Reports tell teams how their partners received and processed the products they submitted. This month, we made them both more flexible and more accurate.

Configurable Report Layouts

Users can now configure the content of Eligibility Reports directly from the interface, using layouts. They can create, edit and select a layout, and each generated report follows the chosen layout. Saved layouts remain available for later reports, so teams can tailor reports to each partner without any technical intervention.

Accurate Eligibility Reports for Akeneo Submissions

Icecat Hexagon now matches Akeneo acknowledgments using the retailer’s own product code (SKU). Eligibility Reports therefore show the real outcome of each submission — acknowledgment received, product accepted, or the reason for a rejection — together with the actual acknowledgment date. Teams gain a reliable view of what their partners have processed and can act quickly on any rejected product.

Stronger Security & Compliance

Continuous Security and Compliance Improvements

Security remains a constant priority for Icecat Hexagon. This month, we continued our security and compliance program with several improvements behind the scenes:

▸ Image processing now runs entirely on our latest-generation service, and every export carries freshly generated, secure image links.

▸ We reviewed and updated the third-party software components the platform relies on, keeping Icecat Hexagon aligned with current industry standards.

▸ Export validation now relies on a fully open-source component, so exports with validation rules scale smoothly to any catalog size and validation messages point more precisely to the field concerned.

▸ We continued documenting our authentication practices to support our customers’ security reviews and audits.

These improvements are transparent for users: Icecat Hexagon works just as before, on an even stronger foundation.
