Icecat PIM 3.18.0 is here. This Icecat PIM release adds custom AI prompt rules with a choice of ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, bulk product creation and a reworked Import Wizard, plus faster Shopify and Odoo exports, Odoo 19 support and correct Shopware stock for deactivated products.
Adding many products no longer means setting up a full import. Instead, upload a CSV or Excel file in the Add Product modal, and Icecat PIM matches your columns to Brand, MPN and EAN. You can then adjust the mapping, edit or remove rows, and check that every row has a Brand and MPN. Afterwards, a results view shows which products Icecat PIM created and which rows failed, so you can enrich all new products with Icecat content right away and follow the progress live. In addition, Retailer PIMs can now set a single product’s warehouse, stock and purchase price when they create it.
Quote Pages, introduced in 3.16.0, now support bid pricing on sales quotes. Once you enter a Bid Number, the purchase price becomes editable and syncs both ways with the supplier price in Odoo. Remove the bid number and it goes back to the supplier price.
On the Channel Specific Page, you can now download all videos of a product in one go. Simply click Prepare Download, and Icecat PIM builds a ZIP file in the background, so you can keep working or even leave the page. The ZIP then stays ready for 48 hours. Inside, Icecat PIM names each video by SKU and lists YouTube or other embedded videos as links in a text file. You can also still download single videos straight from their row.
AI Prompt Rules give you control over how AI writes your product content. Set rules per channel, language, category, brand and product type, give each field its own audience, tone and length, and test a rule on a real product before it goes live. A separate, detailed walkthrough of AI Prompt Rules is on the way.
“Enrich with AI (all fields)” on the product edit page now lets you pick which fields to run, shows its progress, and fills the page without saving, so you can review the results first. Next to ChatGPT, you can now also choose Claude or Gemini in System Settings → AI Connection, using your own API key. Bulk translation in the product list handles up to 50 products per run, with live progress and a clear overview of what changed. More AI features are already coming your way.
The Import Wizard now starts with what you’re importing. Product & Content creates and updates product data and content, with settings for new products, languages and locks, and never deletes products. Supplier & Stock & Pricing creates products and updates prices and stock, and can remove warehouses that are no longer in your file.
Settings are now split into Basic Settings (import name, filters and conversions) and Advanced Settings. Conversions are optional: values that exactly match an existing brand, warehouse code, category or product type are mapped automatically. Preview runs are optional too, and much faster: a 500-row file now previews in about 4 seconds. And this is just the start: more exciting updates for imports and exports are already on their way.
Import and Export Insights now show one clear message, “These details are currently not available”, for jobs that don’t report details yet, such as Magento imports.
With “Lock Contents for Products after Export” switched on, the Shopify connector locks a product’s content in Icecat PIM after each successful content export. Imports and Icecat enrichment then can’t overwrite the edits your team makes in Shopify, while stock and prices keep updating. The setting is off by default, and products exported earlier can be locked in bulk from the product list. With “Do Not Create Non-Existing Products on Shop”, product exports update the products already in your store without adding new ones.
Exports now run up to five Shopify bulk operations at the same time: in a live test with 42,600 products, a full export that previously hung for more than 22 hours finished in under 2. Product weights now come from the product’s warehouse, falling back to the product weight, and are sent in the unit set in Icecat PIM. More Shopify export options are already in the works.
The Odoo connector is now verified on Odoo 19. The new Full and Update Enrich Only exports send names, descriptions, translations, attributes and optional products to products already in Odoo. They never change the MPN, brand, category, barcode or prices, never create or archive products, and an empty field in Icecat PIM never clears content in Odoo.
Multi-language exports now make up to 62% fewer calls to Odoo and retry automatically when the connection briefly drops.
When a product is deactivated, the Shopware connector now sends its current stock along with the visibility change. Products that are out of stock or deleted in Icecat PIM show zero stock in Shopware, so they can no longer be bought through a direct link. Products deactivated before this release are corrected automatically on the next product export.
Date pickers now work the same across Icecat PIM, including Content Versioning, Product History, Product Pricing and Insights: today is highlighted, weeks start on Monday and dates show as DD.MM.YYYY.
Icecat PIM 3.18.0 gives teams more control over their content and saves time on setup. Custom AI prompt rules, bulk product creation and the reworked Import Wizard cut repetitive work, while faster and more accurate Shopify, Odoo and Shopware connectors keep every channel in sync.
