The top 10 e-channel brands in 2017 are led by HP, Philips and Lenovo like in 2016. Most progress is made by Apple which expanded its online visibility with 102% compared to an industry average of 55%.The only contracting brand in the top 10 is Hewlett Packard Enterprise (-25%), which still suffers from its divestment from HP Inc. in 2016, and has the challenge to refocus its distribution channel, which is traditionally successful in hardware distribution but not in cloud services.
Looking at growth percentages among the 21,418 brands that Icecat metered in 2017, the ten fastest growing brands are led by toys brands Ravensburger (+685%). Most prominent in the fast-growth categorie are mobile phone cases and accessories brands PowerQ, Katinkas, Ksix, iGadgitz, Amzer, and Empire. There are often newcomers in this very dynamic vertical. Classic brands that showed some strong lift are lowepro (camera accessories), 3M (offices supplies) and Adata (storage media).
The metrics are based on 13 billions product data-sheet (PDS) downloads in 2017 for products from 21,418 brands, belonging to 4,636 different categories. The PDS downloads were generated by 74,908 e-channel partners from 234 different countries or territories.
