Amazon’s Critical Image and Content Requirements

We notice evolvement in the content requirements of Amazon and other major etailers. With the focus on improving the online buying experience based on conversion metrics. At the same time, the content of many brands falls short of these critical requirements. If a brand’s content is not complying to these requirements, the shopping experience will not meet Amazon’s expectations, the product might not be shown and sales out will be disappointing. Great brands that master e-commerce, produce great content.

As Amazon is setting the e-commerce standard in Western countries, we list here its minimum content requirements:

  • Images: minimum 1000x1000px. Preferred: 4000x4000px
  • Local marketing texts and sales arguments as bulletpoints
  • Reasons-To-Buy consisting of feature logos and explanatory texts
  • Standardized specs incl. searchables and mandatory specs given the category

In the Icecat PIM, you can see how your products score on your etailer’s main content requirements. In case you want to monitor and improve your product content for Amazon, the e-commerce, please register online (FREE).
