XML, JSON and LIVE (JS) get more popular during Q1-2017
In Q1 2017, Icecat served 3.5 billion data-sheet, versus 1.7 billion registered in 2016. An annual increase of 143%.
In Q1 2017, especially the Icecat XML data and Icecat LIVE (JS/JSON) interfaces became more popular, compared with the same period one year earlier. More traditional download methods, such as portal use (www), CSV/Excel downloads and URL calls to data-sheets, relatively declined in the download mix.
Although most downloads (89%) are by XML users, they represent just 36% of the active Icecat users. The portal (www) users represent 57% of the active users, but logically generate only 10% of the data-sheet downloads as this usage type is manual by nature. The fast-growing category of Live JS/JSON users represent over 4% of the active users.
