The 2025 Dutch Shopping Awards concluded last Friday, celebrating standout performers in the country’s online retail sector. Among the evening’s biggest highlights was Picnic, the digital supermarket, which took home the coveted DHL Best Online Store of the Year title.
Now in its 24th year, the Shopping Awards is a major event in the Dutch e-commerce calendar, recognizing both public favorites and businesses selected by expert juries. The awards span a wide range of categories, including the most popular webshops, fastest-growing businesses, and innovative newcomers.
Online grocery platform Picnic emerged as the standout of the night, winning both the Supermarkets & Delivery Services category and the top public vote from other category winners. The company, which is marking its 10th anniversary this year, replaces Welkoop, which had won the top award for two consecutive years.
In addition to the public votes, five businesses were honored with jury-selected awards. The winners were chosen based on their strategic presentations and standout business approaches. The jury focused on areas such as sustainability, innovation, B2B performance, marketplace excellence, and startup potential.
