Spring has arrived. In Japan, spring – especially April – is the season of new beginnings, such as the start of the financial year and school year. Two new beginnings for Icecat’s Japanese ecosystem are partnerships with JCSSA (the Japan Computer System Seller Association) and Digital-Free Inc.
In 2018, JCSSA introduced an official guideline regarding the requirements for appropriate product images provided to online resellers by brands. After acknowledging Icecat’s capabilities demonstrated by business cases in Japan, JCSSA has officially appointed Icecat as image content syndicator between brands and online resellers. This newly established collaboration caught the attention of media outlets such as Denpa Shimbun Daily, the top industrial newspaper for electronics in Japan, and Weekly BCN. Mr. Matsunami, the Executive Director of JCSSA stated that “through this new collaboration with Icecat as a global content syndicator, JCSSA is expecting to accelerate the efficient image content syndication especially for new online resellers.”
Digital-Free, a leading Magento solution provider, also becomes an official Icecat partner this Spring. According to Mr. Shibata, CEO of Digital-Free, this enables the company to offer a one-stop solution for automated content creation. The solution combines Icecat’s unique multilingual specifications, Icecat Magento connector by Iceshop, and a third party’s SEO extension for Magento. This solution is especially suitable for Japanese online resellers planning on expanding to non-Japanese-speaking countries. Icecat can surely cater to these needs as it currently supports more than 45 languages.
In collaboration with Digital-Free, Icecat and Iceshop are already jointly helping an online pharmacy launching its new cross-border web shop.
