Icecat

Introducing New XML Version

You may know from the previous blog post that we’ve launched our updated XML version, which comes packed with several new tags, attributes, and features. Our aim is to provide a better experience, and we believe that the updated XML version will just do that. We already have converted users with Full Icecat subscription to the updated version. Now we are going to migrate users with Open Icecat subscription.

We’re confident that this new version will not negatively affect your current usage, but rather provide additional information tags that you can use, if you want to. We encourage you to try them out and see how they can enhance your business.

One of the main updates is the new tag structure, which has been added to the new version. It includes <ProductModelDescriptions>, <ProductTitles>, <ProductFeature> and <ProductRelated> tags, which can help you provide better descriptions, titles, features, and product relations.

Structure of new tags:

<ProductModelDescriptions>

  ...
</ProductModelDescriptions>

<ProductTitles>
  <Titles>

    ...
  </Titles>

  </BrandLocalTitles>
</ProductTitles>

<ProductFeature ...>

      </Measure>
    </LocalValue>
    <LocalValue langid="2" Value="{NL local value}">
      <Measure ID="2">
        <Sign ID="2" langid="2"> " </Sign>
      </Measure>
    </LocalValue>
    ...
  </LocalValues>
</ProductFeature>

<ProductRelated ...>
  <Product ...>

In addition to the new tag structure, we’ve also added new features that are only available in the new version, such as New Behavior for Product Relations, Auto-Generated Bullet Points, and Retailer Specific Description.

We’re excited to have you try out the new XML version and see how it can benefit your business. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our support team, who are always available to help.
