The redesigned import/export page of the Icecat user portal is now live. After months of analyzing, redesigning, implementing, testing, and debugging, we finally rolled out the new design. The import/export page covers the former “My downloads” and “My price list” functions in a new fashion. Also, the manual for the personal index file and personal catalog is updated simultaneously. We run both the new and old interfaces in parallel, and users can switch between them, till we fix all the issues that users report.
Redesign User Interface/User ExperienceFirstly, the new design is modern, simple, and straightforward. But also, the user experience is rethought. We completely rewrote the Product Feed Import (matching) and Personal Index File (PIF) functions. The matching process is a lot faster and more accurate now. Furthermore, PIF generation is sped up as well and also the tech architecture is simplified. Hopefully, this reduces the number of support requests related to these functions to zero.
First step: product feed import.
Second step: import settings and matching.
Third step: matching results and result files generation.
Please, note that the result files are not generated on the fly anymore. You can choose the file type, format, language, and only then the system generates the files needed.
As we will keep working on it, please don’t hesitate to send your comments to us via the interface or via our contact form.
