Here are the Iceclog Release Notes for the 2.9.0 version. In this release we will discuss the migration of the infrastructure to PHP 8.0., upgrade to a new logo, and some maintenance tasks, bugs, and fixes. For the previous Iceclog Releases Notes, please click here.
We updated our core mechanism to the latest version and tested that everything works correctly. So, we migrated our servers from PHP 7.4 to PHP 8.0 and conducted staging tests. Furthermore, we updated the used modules to the newest versions and removed several obsolete ones.
There are a number of improvements and new features that come with PHP 8.0. In general, running an up-to-date version of PHP will speed up your site it also prevents bad actors from taking advantage of security vulnerabilities that could be lurking in older PHP versions.

The final task in this Iceclog release notes 2.9.0 is the quarterly maintenance updates. For example, updates on several plugins. But, also minor fixes in Google Search Console and redirect updates in the hamburger menu.
