Icecat Release Notes 158: Category Ranking added to Brand Rank Dashboard

In these Icecat Release Notes 158, we will explain the development of category ranking. Furthermore, we will highlight all the other improvements and fixes from this sprint. Please find here the previous Icecat Release Notes.

Category ranking

In addition to the brand dashboard, developed to observe and compare the content marketing performance of brands, we are now launching a category ranking that will allow us to view the performance of product categories.

For this release, we listed the most popular leaf categories containing products per brand. Users can now find the categories on the bottom of the brand dashboard page under the separate tab “Top categories”:

During the following iteration, we will build a separate category dashboard and rank page where the following metrics will be available to observe the performance of each category:

  • Category name
  • Global Rank
  • Data health
  • Downloads
  • Platforms
  • Products (total and active)
  • Number of brands
  • Map diagram (Downloads by country:) (Icecat Category rank and Data-sheet download %)

Other improvements in Icecat Release Notes 158:

  • In the XML files and JSON output, we have tags for the size of images (e.g., OriginalSize, LowSize, ThumbSize, etc.). However, those tags were not populated with actual data. We fixed this, and now all the size tags of images are populated with the actual values.
  • Fixed the issue that a Full Icecat user that has been subscribed to a non-sponsoring brand could not see the brand logo and product images on the product search page and product information page for the respective brand’s products.
  • Fixed the issue that Coverage from file (coverage report from file) was not processing excel files.
  • Fixed the issue that product features of certain products were not visible on the Front Office and in the JSON output.
