Icecat has officially launched its new Akeneo Connector – a fully automated solution that enriches Akeneo-based catalogs with Icecat’s trusted product content, covering over 24 million products in more than 60 languages.
Developed by Icecat’s in-house technical team, the connector allows brands, distributors, and retailers using Akeneo to automatically populate their PIM environments with accurate, up-to-date product data as soon as a product identifier is added. No manual data handling. No extra tools. Just real-time content syncing, built for scale.
Once connected, the Icecat Akeneo Connector continuously monitors your Akeneo environment. When new items are detected based on configured filters (e.g., family, locale, data_owner), the connector initiates the enrichment process.
If the product content is already available in Icecat, it is pushed directly into Akeneo via the API. If not, the system triggers background tasks to source the content from Icecat’s manufacturer feeds. As soon as it’s available, the product data is seamlessly integrated into Akeneo — accurately and without disrupting your internal workflows.
This makes it a hands-free, always-on solution that significantly reduces the time needed to maintain high-quality, multilingual product information.
