Europe’s online consumer electronics market surged to €112 billion in 2024, marking a 24% increase over 2023, according to the latest “Top 100 Consumer Electronics Retail Europe” report from Cross‑Border Commerce Europe. That’s a remarkable leap beyond previous projections of €107 billion by 2025.
While the combined consumer electronics sector (online + offline) grew to €215 billion, a modest 6.5% increase, the online segment is now outpacing the traditional market. By year-end, analysts expect online sales to represent over half of the total market revenue (roughly €117 billion).
Online electronics now account for 13% of all e-commerce sales in Europe, second only to fashion, which holds 15.5%, up from 11% last year.
The top 100 cross-border sellers in the electronics sector command a combined €47 billion, representing 42% of the online market today, expected to reach 47% (~€55 billion) by 2026. Major sales are occurring through marketplaces, which are projected to handle 50% of online electronics trade by 2025.
With digital channels now shaping over half of Europe’s consumer electronics market, the opportunity for brands and retailers has never been bigger.
