Ecommerce giant Amazon is set to launch its marketplace in Belgium in September. Amazon is already active in 20 other countries. Nowadays, Belgium Amazon shoppers have to order in foreign countries. So, the Dutch-speaking Belgium shoppers usually order from the Dutch webshop amazon.nl, which is live for two years. On the other hand, French-speaking shoppers order from Amazon France. From September 2022 on forward, this will not be necessary anymore as Amazon will be live in Belgium.
Recently, Icecat launched its new connection to the Amazon Listings API to further automate content publishing directly from the Icecat database into Amazon Vendor and Seller Central. The new API connection supports real-time content publishing, ASIN (Amazon Standard Identification Number) creation, taxonomy optimization, a publishing dashboard, and extensive reporting.

Earlier this year, the e-commerce giant announced its plans to become present in Belgium. In February, it announced that its first Belgium logistics center would open by the end of this year. The logistics center is located in Antwerp. The plan was to use it as a sorting center for parcels from France and Germany, where it is also active, before shipping them to Belgium consumers.
Furthermore, Amazon wants to expand into five new countries: Chile, Colombia, Nigeria, and South Africa in early 2023.
