Turkey’s Leading Retail Chain Teknosa Works with Icecat to get Content Directly from Brands

Recently, Icecat started providing Turkey’s consumer electronics giant Teknosa with product content. They are the leader in the Turkish consumer electronics market, having been the first of its kind to establish retail locations in all Turkish cities, amounting to over 200 stores in total.

The webshop of the retail chain, established in 2003 to help cater to the retailer’s growing customer base. Teknosa has chosen Icecat to provide rich content, including product specifications, marketing texts, and high-quality images in order to automate and streamline the flow of product information. Teknosa is predominantly using product information from the Computers & Electronics category. In order to increase the percentage of products sold by Teknosa.com, a collaboration project has been established. The partnership’s goal is to direct brands to add their products to the Icecat catalog directly. Some of the brands referred to Icecat by Teknosa in Turkey include Vestel, Apple, LG, Microsoft, Electrolux, and Samsung.

“With Icecat, we changed our sourcing strategy of how to get attributes and specs into our systems. We built a seamless integration with Icecat services, which minimized our content editors’ efforts on product detail pages. Now, Icecat provides specs, product images and marketing texts which are real-time published on our website. The rich content provided by Icecat improved the average page visit time as well as customer satisfaction.

Icecat integration aids us in reaching critical business goals such as improving SEO. We combine Icecat with unique content. It’s surely an advantage.

We enjoy achieving higher levels of customer engagement, via our cooperation with Icecat!”

Emre Tan Altinok, Managing Director at Icecat adds: “Teknosa has been a valuable partner already for years. Now that we are including their vendors in our content syndication ecosystem, we are being able to help them even better. This will not only help Teknosa and her vendors to optimize their product syndication processes but will also increase the buyer experience for Turkish e-commerce clients.”

Teknosa has been using Icecat content in its webshop and physical stores. Icecat also provides multimedia objects such as high-resolution images (Teknosa uses 1000×1000 specifically), 3D Tours, Videos and PDFs.
