Shopify and DHL have entered into a shipping partnership that gives Shopify merchants in Germany direct access to DHL’s shipping services. According to DHL, this collaboration is built into the Shopify platform to streamline logistics and reduce shipping costs for online retailers. Moreover, this integration aims to simplify operations and make shipping more affordable, thereby supporting e-commerce growth. The company expects to expand the service to other key European markets in the near future.
This integration makes DHL’s logistics services accessible directly through Shopify’s shipping platform. As a result, online sellers can manage their shipments more easily and efficiently.
Germany’s leading parcel delivery company highlighted the advantages of this partnership. They explained that Shopify’s seamless integration allows global merchants to easily access DHL’s services. This, in turn, helps them reduce administrative burdens significantly.
With operations in 220 countries, DHL also highlighted that the partnership enhances access to its shipping expertise, especially regarding customs and tax processes.
“Our aim is to support merchants in delivering their products efficiently both domestically and internationally,” DHL stated.
Harley Finkelstein, Shopify’s president, said: “Our focus with Shopify Shipping is to provide an integrated ecommerce solution that grows alongside our merchants. By partnering with DHL, we’re making shipping more accessible and removing obstacles that hinder international growth.”
In addition to DHL, Shopify Shipping partners with Mondial Relay and Chronopost in France, Correos in Spain, and Poste Italiane in Italy. Notably, Poste Italiane and DHL operate a joint venture for parcel lockers across Italy.
In the UK, Evri is one of Shopify’s key logistics partners. Additionally, earlier this month, news broke that DHL Ecommerce UK is set to merge with Evri.
