Review: Instant Pot Duo 7-in-1, the Best High Pressure Cooker I’ve Ever Tried!

I have tested the Instant Pot Duo 7-in-1 high pressure cooker intensively the last few weeks, and I couldn’t be happier. What a machine! The Canadian minds behind this wonder of technology deserve the Nobel Prize of Culinary Arts. I know it doesn’t exist, but it should….

From a high pressure cooker point of view, it’s simply the best I’ve ever used. It is the fastest and most silent one. The speed to cook certain beans and meats it’s just ridiculous. Due to the high pressure and speed of cooking, you can also benefit from a very low electricity consumption.

The sealing of the lid is NASA grade. Although, for slow cooking, I would recommend getting the normal lid, because the standard one still closes  well, and no evaporation happens. Making broth for ramen was easy with the normal lid. It works for infusing the ingredients for dashi and then cook the rest. And do not forget about rice… you can make all kinds of rice, from sushi rice in a perfect and simple way to tasty seafood rice in a rich broth.

With the yogurt making option, you can use slow infusion too or even make your own wine. Yes, you can make wine in this thing. So just for this, it deserves five stars.

The negative points come around when you want to upgrade it or add some accessories. You will need the slow cooking lid, the non stick pot and maybe the steaming racks… and then you will have to pay extra for each thing. So the final product, goes from 139 to more than 200 euro.

But, I still would definitely recommend this cooker to anyone who needs a pressure cooker and also want it for slow cooking stews, rice, etc…
