OKU is a distributor of sustainable and high-quality toys in the Benelux. For over 40 years, OKU has been supplying its products to retail chains and specialty stores in various industries. OKU offers a wide range of quality toys and places great value on customer orientation and service. Some of OKU’s brands include LENA, Barbo Toys, Geomag, MeMe, Alexander Toys, Siku, Andreu Toys, Voggenreiter, and Trefl. OKU has made product information from these brands available in Icecat.
To better facilitate OKU’s e-commerce partners, OKU is participating with its brands in Open Icecat in the Benelux. Open Icecat is freely accessible and can be used for free by OKU’s e-commerce partners. Icecat is used by e-commerce companies and (toy) webshops to obtain and integrate product content into their systems. It contains data such as marketing text, images, technical specifications, and enhanced content (Icecat Product Stories), making it easier to present and sell products online.
Automated Data Integration: Icecat’s solution allowed OKU to automatically integrate high-quality product content directly into their systems. By entering basic product information, OKU could retrieve detailed content, including images, descriptions, and specifications, with just the push of a button.
Seamless ERP Integration: OKU’s ERP system, Logic 4, featured a built-in connector with Icecat. This integration enabled OKU to manage their extensive product portfolio efficiently, with product data automatically synced from Icecat to their Product Information Management system and webshop.
Scalability: Icecat’s solution made it possible for OKU to onboard new products and brands quickly, reducing the time from weeks to a single day. For example, the Open Icecat brand Schleich was onboarded also within one day. This scalability allowed OKU to expand its product assortment rapidly, keeping pace with market demands.
Enhanced Content Quality: By sourcing product data from Icecat, OKU significantly improved the quality of content on their webshop. This included better images, more detailed product descriptions, and additional specifications, which enhanced the overall shopping experience for their B2B customers.
