NEW: Icecat PIM 2.3 Offers an Improved Look, more Speed and Easy Search

Icecat PIM has another big launch this week, version 2.3.0, following previous releases in March (version 2.2.5) and June (version 2.2.6). The new version has benefits for both Icecat and non-Icecat users: not just the look has been improved, but also manual content management, speed and search have been upgraded.

Restyled interface

Icecat PIM now has a restyled interface with new colors, logos, menu icons and more. See the visual below.

Manual content management

In v2.3, manual content management has been improved. For those who are using dropdown lists within attributes, for example yes/no, black/grey/white, 1/0, there is now an option to create your own dropdown list on product type level. This feature helps content editors to fill respective product attributes more easily, while making less mistakes.

Other new options are bulk image upload to save time when uploading more than one image, an icon to see instantly which attributes are visible in your system.

Improved performance

Perhaps the biggest improvements that Icecat PIM 2.3.0 has to offer, is the delta import. We have created delta imports for products and for Icecat data replacing full re-imports. Only updated data from suppliers and Icecat are imported. This reduces daily processing dramatically, and thus improves the timeliness of the product database.

You do not have to worry to miss an update, because you could still trigger the full import whenever it is needed, or for example configure a full import to run on a weekly basis to reduce the risk that your database will be out of sync.

Faster product page and easy search

The product page and product search have been improved to work faster, even with very large amounts of product content. Further, improved search boxes make search more intuitive: type the first few characters of the search word and the system will provide suggestions to find the results you are looking for more easily.
