Italian COOP Enhances Visitor Experience with Product Stories

Italian Consumer Cooperative COOP implements Icecat Product Stories to enhance the online visitor experience on its e-commerce platform. The Icecat product datasheets include a wide variety of content, ranging from basic specifications all the way to rich content. COOP implemented product stories, a popular type of rich content that combines various multimedia assets, such as videos, hotspots, carousels reasons-to-buy, and featured images. Furthermore, an Icecat Product Story follows the brand’s look and feel and online visitors might imagine that they are holding the actual product in their hands.

COOP Italia was founded in 1967 and has since grown to more than 100 cooperatives across Italy. Moreover, the group has over 50,000 employees and registered revenues of € 14.7 billion in 2019.

COOP is an authorized LEGO reseller and implements therefore also the Product stories of LEGO.

The implementation of product stories is fairly easy. With a few lines of JavaScript in the HTML code, they are ready to go live on any device. The manual with detailed instructions explains how to embed product stories via the Icecat Live Granular Call.

Why Consider Integrating Product Stories?

Product stories bring a wide range of benefits. For example, they will help to:

  • boost sales, as rich content is a proven tool to raise conversion rates,
  • increase consumer engagement, as Product Stories contain interactive elements like hotspots, carousels, videos, galleries, or 360s,
  • deliver brand-consistent content on product pages, which will have a look & feel that follows the brand’s visual guidelines,
  • make use of brand-approved messages to convince consumers of the main selling points and advantages that define the unique market position of the product,
  • achieve a responsive design that adapts to visitor screen resolutions.

The product stories are FREE and accessible immediately after registration.
