Icecat Release Notes 151: Second stage of Media API released. User Interface for Auto-Generated Bullet Points is Live

In these Icecat Release Notes 151, we will explain the development of the second stage of our Media API. Further, we will discuss the User Interface development for auto-generated bullet points. And, finally, we will highlight some other improvements and fixes. Please, find here the previous Icecat Release Notes.

The second stage of Media API

In this release, we launched the second stage of our Media API. From now on, Icecat users can upload video assets separately through the Media API. As a result, these videos can be presented in Icecat LIVE using a separate call, even if they are not associated to a product data-sheet yet.

While uploading videos, users will set the following parameters:

  • a User’s Reference Code for calling the digital asset
  • the Owner’s user ID
  • List of authorized users*

Thereafter, users are able to use the above-mentioned parameters to call previously uploaded videos on a separate UI screen. Next, Icecat checks the availability of the video assets in our storage for the requested parameters. Once the video assets exist with the requested parameters and users are authorized to call the video assets, the Icecat system will return all the requested video assets in a separate User Interface screen.

*Authorized users – the list of users who should have access to the video assets, when applicable. Asset owners will be able to set the list of users simply by adding their Icecat user id(s) into the required field. Alternatively, asset owners will be able to leave that field empty, meaning that only the asset owner can access it. Furthermore, asset owners are able to mark the video public, meaning that all users will have access to the video.

User Interface for Auto-Generated Bullet Points

In the previous release notes, we mentioned the development of auto-generated bullet points, which will allow adding Bullet Points on product category level. We updated the User Interface in the Icecat PIM to support editors with this. Thus, Icecat editors are now able to define and manage Bullet Points on product category level.

Other improvements in Icecat Release Notes 151:

  • Added “other digital assets” multimedia object (MMO) type for the International Assets to the extract-transform-load (ETL) tool.
  • Resolved the issue when files in INT (international) locale were not available for some full Icecat users.
  • Fixed the issue that the PUT API method did not update an existing MMO when the same MMO is re-uploaded.
  • Resolved the issue that Files.index.xml returned 404 for the fl_ph locale (Filipino).
  • Fixed the bug regarding product presentation values with multi dropdown (value lists): we had several delimiters (“,“ or “, “ (comma with space)) for one feature in different languages.
  • Restored lost Live statistics using historical simulation based.
