Icecat Live’s Network of Active Users Doubled

The number of active ecommerce users making use of Icecat Live, doubled per May 2025 to 3,331 (from 1,635). An active ecommerce user is typically an online retailer’s website, or marketplace. The growth by a staggering 104% was broadly supported by all 122 countries or territories in which Icecat is active.

The top ten countries – led by Italy, the Netherlands and Germany – show the same trend. Outside Europe, it is the USA and Mexico that made it to the top ten. However, over time, we expect to see here the countries in order of their respective GDP.

Finally, the growth in the number of product story views expanded by 25% to 824 million over the given period.

Note: the statistics are based on the number of active Icecat Live users for the trailing twelve month period up to May 1 of 2025 versus for the same period one year before.

What are the key differentiators of Icecat Live?

Real-Time Content Delivery. Icecat Live serves content dynamically via a script on product pages, ensuring real-time access to the latest specs, images, and rich media. Many competitors still rely on scheduled data feeds or API pulls. Icecat Studio enables the creation and syndication of top notch multimedia product stories.

Open Content Model. Icecat’s unique open catalog and Brand Cloud allows free access to millions of product data-sheets, and thousand of ecommerce sites, whereas others work on closed, license-based models.

Massive Global Reach. With active users now at 3,331 ecommerce partners in 122 countries, Icecat Live’s footprint is one of the broadest globally. The presence in Europe and fast growth in the US and Mexico underscores its global relevance. Note: the total reach of Icecat via JSON and XML interfaces is even much larger.

Scalability: the 25% growth to 824 million product story views annually shows not only scale but strong performance in delivering engaging content, rivaling platforms that focus on Enhanced Content (like Salsify or Syndigo). Cost Efficiency: compared to US-based syndicators, brand owners see Icecat Live as a cost-effective and lightweight integration, with no need to manage heavy PIM/API-based imports.

These factors explain why brands and their channel and marketing partners coalesce into the Icecat Live streams for real-time, enriched product data. Streams which are seamlessly incorporated into the internal and external data flows of a manufacturer during a product’s entire life cycle.
