German expert.de asks its Vendors to Upload Product Content via Icecat Free Brand Cloud

German retailer expert.de uses Icecat product content successfully for many years for its e-commerce environment. It is represented in 22 countries with 4,000 physical stores and total revenue of around 16 billion euros. With expert using Full Icecat, it has access to all the product content that is available in the Icecat product catalog, especially regarding consumer electronics, beauty & health, and gaming. Furthermore, as a Full Icecat client, expert brands have now access to the Free Brand Cloud Program to all its vendors.

German content is key

German retailer expert asks all its vendors to register for Free Brand Cloud. They can then immediately start entering and enriching their German product information. For example, product titles, descriptions, specs, images, 360 degrees demos, feature logos, sustainability data, or videos. As part of the solution, expert helps brands to more effectively promote and position their products in its shop. And, also helps to improve the completeness of their product content, reducing the time-to-market for new products and boosts sales.

Additional benefits for expert vendors

The main advantage for a vendor is that there is no need for big investments in its own product information manager (PIM) and syndication infrastructures. It only takes a free Brand Cloud account to be in business.

Brand editors can enter data manually, using Icecat’s sophisticated PIM (the free Brand Cloud) or by developing a connection to Icecat’s push-API. The latter will require separate authorization and security precautions. In both cases, the entered product information goes straight into the Icecat catalog and is ready to go live for syndication in minutes, whereby Icecat takes care of the translation of structured data elements into local languages. But, marketing texts and other unstructured data is to be provided by the brand in the German language. Additionally, brand editors get real-time notifications of the publishing cycle.

Restricted syndication

Icecat can also support content syndication restrictions. For example in the case that only authorized resellers of a brand owner should receive its product content or only certain digital assets. Alternatively, there’s the option to use the premium syndication services of Open Icecat. This includes unlimited syndication to all channel partners of a brand. This includes platforms like Amazon and Google.

Furthermore, in case you as a vendor need support, Icecat provides very efficient service levels that utilize the editorial team.

There is a tutorial available on how to register for Free Brand Cloud in three easy steps. For more information please register for Free Brand Cloud, contact Icecat online or contact your local account manager directly.
