The demand for product content keeps rising in 2021. In the Icecat Brand Rank Monitor H1-2021, all 28 thousand brands are monitored. Each brand’s ranking is based on billions of annual PDS downloads by channel partners and direct views by consumers. A lower brand rank number means a better score. The better the brand rank, the more views or downloads a brand needs to improve.
In the first half of 2021, more than 5.8 billion product data-sheet requests, i.e., product data requests through searches, downloads, or otherwise, are in the global Icecat catalog. HP tops the brand rank monitor with 600+ million requests, followed by Samsung and Lenovo. DELL, Acer, Philips, ASUS, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Apple, Sony complete the top 10.
This overall top is typically dominated by tech brands. In the coming period, we will also publish the Top 10s per Vertical, like Toys, Fashion, DIY etc.
Brand analytics per country are visible. A brand rank per country is especially interesting for a brand’s local business representatives. Besides, as the internet implies globalization, Icecat can not resolve all views or downloads to an individual country. Some e-commerce users are international. And some individual data consumers browse anonymously.
Furthermore, Icecat also publishes a Brand Average Review Score. This includes the total number of reviews that contribute to the score calculation. Again, this is done for transparency. This daily updated statistic is also available for Testseek XML API users by default.
Finally, the data health score is visible. The brand data health completeness score is the average of the completeness scores of all product data sheets of a brand’s products, ranging from main products to supplies and spare parts. Again, brand editors can see the color changing of completeness.
