Partnership with Salling Group: Advancing Compliance and Sustainability

Quite recently we announced the exciting news that Icecat is ensuring EU Compliance in Partnership with Salling Group for Non-Food Products. To ensure full transparency and clarity, we want to provide a deeper understanding of what this collaboration entails and how it will shape the future of compliance at Icecat.

Navigating Denmark’s Complex EPR Framework

This initiative began with an in-depth analysis of Danish Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR). Many EU member states enforce EPR policies for packaging, textiles, and other materials. However, Denmark’s EPR framework stands out as particularly intricate. This complexity created an opportunity to develop a more structured approach to packaging data collection and compliance. The goal was to go beyond national requirements and create a model for broader EU compliance.

Building on this foundation, our efforts have expanded to incorporate additional regulatory frameworks. Which include the General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) and the New Battery Regulation, including the Battery Passport.

Building a Centralized EU Sustainability Compliance Platform

Our long-term goal is to create a centralized platform that systematically maps out all EU sustainability regulations. It would identify key data requirements and compliance obligations. Through strategic collaborations with partners like Salling Group, we are working towards a streamlined, transparent, and accessible compliance framework that simplifies regulatory adherence for our partners and interested parties.

We strongly urge suppliers of electronics and Toys: Contact nordics@icecat.com or visit Icecat’s website to get started.

Furthermore, for any questions regarding our approach to sustainable compliance, reach out to our Sustainability & Compliance Specialist by email at lilian.michael@icecat.com or visit our sustainability page.
