Icecat Teambuilding 2024: A Trip to Venice

Last week, Icecat hosted a remarkable teambuilding event in the captivating city of Venice, Italy. We hosted an exceptional gathering that brought together not only our core Icecat family but also our esteemed colleagues from different parts of the world, including France, Italy, Germany, the Nordics, Turkey, Benelux, and beyond. It was a unique coming together of diverse backgrounds and cultures, uniting us in the spirit of camaraderie and collaboration. Furthermore, the Icecat teambuilding event lasted for three unforgettable days, with a perfect balance between productive business sessions and exciting leisure activities.

Day 1: Connecting & Setting the Stage

Upon arriving in Venice, we kicked off the event with welcome drinks at the hotel’s terrace. Here, we enjoyed the charming ambiance and connected with colleagues. As evening approached, we headed to the heart of Venice for a traditional Venetian dinner. There, we savored a variety of authentic dishes that highlighted the region’s culinary heritage. Additionally, the picturesque surroundings and delectable cuisine set the tone for the days ahead.

We concluded the night with a leisurely stroll through Venice. Moreover, we continued our celebrations at a downtown bar, enjoying each other’s company until the late hours.

Day 2: Learning, Collaboration & Adventure

The second day was a perfect blend of learning and adventure. Our morning was dedicated to business meetings, where we split into groups for brainstorming sessions on various business topics related to Icecat. At the end of these sessions, each group presented their innovative solutions and findings to everyone, showcasing the depth of talent and expertise within our organization.

After a delicious lunch at the hotel, we embarked on a gondola tour through the Venetian canals, enjoying the serene beauty of Venice from a unique perspective.

Our next activity was a Venetian mask painting workshop. We learned about the history of these iconic masks and then had a blast painting our own. It was a creative and engaging experience that allowed us to express our artistic sides.

Dinner that evening was at a traditional restaurant, where we savored a rich assortment of fish and seafood, experiencing the authentic flavors of Venice.

Day 3: Culinary Delights & Relaxation

Our final day in Venice was a more relaxed affair. The morning was free for us to unwind or explore the surroundings on our own. Many of us took this opportunity to stroll through the charming streets, visit local shops, or simply relax and reflect on the past few days.

For lunch, we embarked on a delightful food tour. Meeting with our guides, we set off on a three-hour culinary adventure through the city. Our first stop was a quaint bakery, where we sampled fresh, local pastries. We then visited three local restaurants, each offering different variations of the famous Venetian cicchetti snacks and various spritz cocktails. Our tour concluded with a stop for artisanal gelato, the perfect sweet ending to our gastronomic journey.

The day was a perfect blend of relaxation and exploration, providing a wonderful opportunity to savor the authentic flavors of Venice while enjoying its beautiful surroundings. As the sun began to set, we bid farewell to one another, cherishing the bonds we had forged and the unforgettable experiences we had shared.
