In these Icecat Release Notes November 9, we first discuss the increased visibility of the Brand Rank Pages. Further, we explain improvements in the Icecat Brand Cloud. The previous Icecat release notes are here.
To make the Brand Rank Pages more visible on the Icecat site, we added a stats icon, next to every brand on the vendor page. The links on these icons lead to the respective Brand Rank Pages.
When sending an icecat.biz deep-link to Linkedin, the error message “no alt text provided” appeared instead of a preview of the respective product image. The Icecat team fixed it.
There is new functionality in the Icecat Brand Cloud on the product search page. An Icecat editor can filter products based on their respective “Status” values and create a report by email including only the filtered product. At the moment, this functionality is available only for the Icecat editors and not for the brand type users.
A new check box is added into the Brand Cloud catalog export tool, called “Status”, which will give the possibility to get four new columns. These are:
It’s not only possible to export these four values, but it is also possible to import editorial comments and editorial ownership bookings into the Icecat Brand Cloud.
Finally, we made a few more tweaks to the HP import feed. Now, we allow for the enrichment of Icecat-quality product data-sheets for the category Accessories by the HP import process. Until now we were enriching only the Supplier-quality datasheets in this category. Further, we stopped the import of the “short marketing text” from the HP feed as it is insufficiently consistent and representative.
