New Release: coverage Product Story, nRT roll-out

In these Icecat release notes, we discuss the addition of coverage analysis of the Product Story asset, the roll-out of near-real-time XML repositories, the automated addition of new languages or locales, product management status reports, and, finally, cross-lingual synonyms mapping.

Coverage Product Story

Product stories of brands have become an important digital asset. They are used by DELL, Huawei, HP, and many other brands. For this reason, we now support analyzing the coverage of product stories per catalog and per language (locale).

Near real-time XML for 17 extra locales

Now, 17 locales have near Real-Time XML repositories as well. These are TE (Telugu), TA (Tamil), RU_UA (Ukrainian Russian), EN_NZ (New Zealand English), EN_ID (Indonesian English), EN_MY (Malaysia English), EN_IE (Ireland English), EN_IN (Indian English), FA (Persian), KO (Korean), EN_AE (United Arabic Emirates English), FR_CA (Canadian French), HI (Hindi), KA (Georgian), MK (Macedonian), KN (Kannada), ML (Malayalam).

Users of near real-time repositories receive product content more timely.

Adding new languages automatically

Adding a new language or locale to Icecat is easier now. A new script allows publishing all content for new languages or locales immediately. This reduces the time-to-market for new local product content.

Product management status report by email

When an Icecat editor wants to create a report in our PIM – “Report by email” – they can see an additional column: “Comments”. In this column, the user can see the status per product: who booked the product, mapping information, or comments on why editors can’t describe the product.

Mapping cross-lingual synonyms

In the import mapping interface, we added the detection of the same feature in different languages. The smart mapping interface then combines the cross-lingual synonyms. As a result, we can map one feature in different languages at the same time. Therefore, this improvement increases the mapping productivity of editors. Further, it removes old duplicate mappings in the process.
