Icecat Release Notes 160: Top Brands on the Category Page

In these Icecat Release Notes 160, we will explain the improvement of category pages. Furthermore, we will highlight all other improvements and fixes. Please find here the previous Icecat Release Notes

Top Brands on Category page

During the previous release, we launched a category page where our users can track the performance of leaf categories based on several metrics. On top of this, we added the top list of brands. The list is formed based on the total number of views and downloads of all brand products.

In future iterations, the following metrics will be added to the category page:

  • Data health
  • Products (total and active)
  • Number of brands
  • Map diagram (Downloads by country, Icecat Category rank, and Data-sheet download%)

Export data possibility from the brand comparison page

Export functionality on the brand comparison page is now live. Icecat users will be able to export the following parameters from the brand comparison page:

  • Global brand rank
  • Data Health
  • Reviews
  • Platforms
  • Product views and downloads
  • Total products
  • Active products
  • Number of categories
  • Datasheet download percentage and country rank for each country

Other improvements in Icecat Release Notes 160:

  • Added support for new Canadian English locale
  • Implemented automatic monthly and weekly report generation for 10 brands
  • Fixed images delivery issue
  • Added xlsx files support to Statistics -> Create Report section on BO.
  • Changed the behavior of  “Include last year” checkbox on the Statistics -> Create Report section on BO. Before the update, the report only included data from the previous year that was still applicable in the current year. However, after the update, the report includes data from the previous year that is no longer actually in the current year.
