Icecat Release Notes 135: First Steps towards Support of External Taxonomies

In these Icecat Release Notes 135, we will discuss the first steps towards support of external taxonomies. Further, we explain that Icecat LIVE is now available for all locales. Finally, we highlight that we extended the copy product page function, access to sub-brands, and update process of real-time product CSV. Please, find here the previous Icecat Release Notes 134.

External Taxonomies

During the last sprint, we started to work on the new epic – Support of External Taxonomies. This will allow us to highlight on the product page those specs that are marked by our clients as mandatory. Even if they are not mandatory in our default taxonomy. We forecast that the end of development is finished at the end of January 2022. In this sprint, we completed technical groundwork.

Icecat Live available for all locales

In this sprint, we enabled Icecat Live for each of the supported locales separately. As a consequence, we see the performance increasing up to 4 times in comparison to the previous version. Also, we have detected several technical issues in the Front Office. Fixing these will improve the performance even more. Finally, we fixed possible conflicts in CSS Styles during the integration of videos on the client side.

Copy Product

We extended the “copy product” function to allow editors to choose which exact Localized Multimedia Objects or International Multimedia Objects they want to copy to another product data-sheet.

Access to Sub-brands

Assigned resellers are now able to access sub-brands of the brand they are assigned to. This simplifies brand authorization management in case of brands with multiple sub-brands.

Real-time product CSV based on PCF

From now on, the real-time product CSV is based on the Personal Catalog File (PCF). This implies that the exported data is tailored to the needs of the data client.

Support requests:

We fixed:

  • top product images on the Brand Dashboard
  • in Assortment Coverage
  • the deleting of a single multimedia object (mmo) shouldn’t remove the whole mmo block

Further, we analyzed ways to speed up the transfer of reporting usage statistics.
