Icecat Release Notes 132 and 133: INT XML expanded, GTIN-12 added to Index and Product Files

In these Icecat Release Notes 132 and 133, we will discuss the expanded international XML (INT directory). Furthermore, we explain how GTIN-12 is added to indexes and product files. Finally, we highlight several improvements related to download reports and copying products. Please find here the previous Icecat Release Notes 129 -131.

Expanded international (INT) XML

The international (INT) XML was expanded. Now users should be able to get all the info from the INT XML without the need to download local XMLs. In other words, the international XML is now user-specific, and contains now all the product data a particular user subscribed to.

Increased search speed

We increased the speed of search after updating our web environment to ElasticSearch version 7.1.

GTIN-12 added to index and product files

We added GTIN-12 (UPC) to indexes and product files to make matching easier for clients in addition to the GTIN-13 version. We added an attribute to clarify which GTIN version is applicable.

Other improvements in Release 132

For internal users there are were more improvements, for example:

  • We activated a new Copy Product function. And await now the feedback from our Editorial team. In next sprints it will be improved visually and functionally.
  • The new version of data-sheet download reports is now available. Its speed is improved and it supports new features, like multi-select for several values in one field. Both new and old versions are available, as the new one doesn’t completely replace the existing version yet.
  • Update of the matching logic by removal of unnecessary rules.

Other improvements in Release 133

For internal users there are were more improvements, for example:

  • Added customer number to Back Office users, in order to link easier with accounting software.
  • Restored features of Face Skin Care sets after an error.
  • Fixed errors in statistics and improved custom reports.
