In these Icecat Release Notes 124, we discuss a product import fix, support of special characters in Brand Cloud, and file upload. Furthermore, we highlight a smart reduction of the daily index file and changed Philips tooltips on the product page. Please, find here the previous Icecat Release Notes 123.
Import creates imported products with nbsp symbols. These products do not resolve to the correct products. We now have detected all those products and filtered out all nbsp symbols.
Characters that contain &, #, or + symbols could not be selected in the Owner dropdown on the product creation page. When searching a user with those special symbols, the dropdown became empty. This issue is now fixed.
The Icecat file upload system did not accept a matching file with unexpected symbols. We fixed it by adding these to our system.
The daily index files contained products that were updated only for one locale. The index file should not contain such products. We added the needed filter.
There are multiple Philips brands in our system as there are multiple brand licensees. For example, Philips itself versus Philips by Signify, which can have the same brand logo and brand name for commercial purposes. Still, they need to be clearly distinguished and identified in the case of brand rank statistics. We resolved it by showing the international, full string, when it is about statistics. See the example brand tooltip below.
