Q3 2021: Steady Growth in Online Visits

In the third quarter of 2021, Icecat continues its steady growth, despite the fact that we see a decrease in new registrations now that most retail lock downs are over. There was, nevertheless, a rise in the number of visitors to the product catalog database, Icecat’s blog, and social media networks.

Icecat catalog

The page views for the Icecat catalog website have seen a rise of 42%. The growth in unique page views of icecat.biz as compared to Q3 2020 was 14%. The user database recorded a growth of 18%.

Iceclog

Our blog witnessed an increase in traffic of 196% (!) compared to Q3 2020. The rise of unique visitors is 82%, meaning that Icecat’s content attracts new as well as existing readers. Of course, next to the news and statistics from the e-commerce world, one of the traditionally very popular content types are Icecat manuals for new users. By posting daily e-commerce related news, we see continuous growth month-on-month during 2021.

Open Icecat registrations

Compared to Q3 2020, there has been a decrease in the new Open Icecat registration. This is probably caused by the fact that the Q3 period of last year was an extremely successful one because of the mass switching to online as a result of the coronavirus pandemic and Icecat offering free assistance with this switch to all retailers.

Social Media

In the third quarter of 2021, our company handle reached 6K followers on LinkedIn for our company handle. At the same time, the handle of our CEO reached 28K connects. The total increase of our Icecat handle during this period was only 1.6%. The Icecat marketing team is working hard to post interesting content throughout all our social media channels and grow the community even further. But, we start to wonder if LinkedIn looses its edge as B2B social channel.
