Icecat Commerce 2024.5 Sprint Report

Here we are again with new and exciting updates from our 2024.5 sprint aimed at improving our PIM. Currently, we are working hard on the new front end, but don’t worry we don’t forget to upgrade other features on Icecat PIM as well.

Icecat PIM development

  • Finished a new CSV content import type for existing products: descriptions, bullet points, image URLs, and EAN codes. Customers will be able to upload (and lock) content in bulk.
  • Finished locks for CSV content import: functionality to overwrite or not overwrite previously locked fields.
  • AI | Added Generate/Enhance/Undo functionalities to Product family field and Model field
  • Added “Update Product UPC/EAN” setting during Icecat partial import or Manual enrich via the button.
Now all Icecat imports will use the setting mentioned above.
  • Fixed deleting selected products in the Icecat PIM bug
  • Added Icecat category import assignment to Channels (previously Shops)
  • Set product status for Icecat enrich only connectors
  • Solved Standard XML Video Export Bug
  • Solved Creating products without warehouse bug
  • Started developing move/copy post-filter rules functionality.
Initiated the development of functionality in post-filter rules for moving or copying data, enhancing the management of rules for the users.
  • Started developing copy import functionality.
When our customers create multiple imports, recreating the same settings is time-consuming. By implementing this task, our customers will be able to save time.
  • Move translations from DB to files. While having this development, we will be able to easily add new administrator languages to Icecat PIM.
  • Solved Download file to local PC | File is not secure browser warning
  • Disabled autofill for password fields in Admin settings.
  • Added Bulk lock overwrite functionality.
  • Started implementing a dashboard module for the New Logs.
  • Started implementing Overwrite/not overwrite product’s locks when applying Icecat manual enrichment in product edit.

Icecat PIM new UX project:

  • Icecat PIM’s new UX implementation and tests are ongoing.

Icecat connectors:

  • WooCommerce: Connector performance increased via partial update features.
  • Amazon: Additional logging features and export features completed.

Final Thoughts

Our development process is organized into sprints, which typically last three weeks. While we aim to complete some features within a single sprint, as an example 2024.5 sprint, others may require more time and continue into the next one. To ensure the highest quality, all features undergo rigorous testing before release.
Therefore, completing a feature within a sprint doesn’t guarantee immediate availability for our users. Furthermore, we will communicate with all our customers about the new release dates, provide release logs, and offer explanations on what features are inside and how they work via our blog.
