NTT, Google Shopping, JCSSA and j5create partner with Icecat

E-commerce in East Asia has been growing for the last few years and 2018 wasn’t an exception. New big manufacturers and retailers from East Asia, partnered up with Icecat, mostly from Taiwan and Japan.

j5create

Taiwan – well known for the latest high-technology gadgets manufactured by small to medium-sized companies.  j5create is one of these brands, known as the best USB-C cable provider.  j5create was looking for the ideal solution to syndicate and distribute its product content easily via their European distributors, and for that purpose Icecat’s multilingual product data platform is chosen. Ms. Cindy Wu, Marketing Manager at j5create says: “Our retailers are happy as they can smoothly integrate accurate product information via Icecat. Moreover, we are very impressed with how quick the data-sheet creation process is handled by the Icecat editorial team”.

NTT Plala: Hikari TV Shopping

Japan is one of the top 10 countries in the world in terms of online sales volume.  Amazon occupies the No 1 position as giant in Japan, while some local channels are emerging. NTT Plala, one of the most popular fiber-based TV companies, is offering Hikari TV Shopping as on-demand TV channel network. In order to attract more users, it started enriching its offerings with more complete specifications and high-quality images in co-operation with Icecat.

Product Image Guideline JCSSA

For Asian brands, correct product information is crucial, especially on online-malls. Such as Rakuten Japan or Tmall in China, as the most popular platforms in Asia for small to medium webshops. In order to ensure the quality of product content including images, there are ongoing discussions at an industrial organization level. For example in Japan, JCSSA (Japan Computer System Seller Association) announced a guideline for appropriate products images, that brands have to provide the online retailers, which fully matches Icecat’s own image guidelines.

Feeding Google Shopping in East Asia

Structured and complete product content feed for Google Shopping is one of the most important factors around the world. In Asia is no different. As already announced, Icecat teamed up with Google and provides help to feed Google Shopping with information about your products in all regional languages such as Japanese, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese.
