ASUS Spain Syndicates Content to Partners and Amazon

ASUS Spain syndicates its product content to its channel partners and to Amazon through Icecat. The mother company AsusTek Computer Inc is a Taiwanese multinational computer and phone hardware and electronics company with €10 billion revenues in 2019. Asus is number 7 in Icecat’s global brand ranking and participates already for around 15 years in Open Icecat on a per country basis including the Netherlands and Germany. The global computer manufacturer sells products like notebooks, servers, motherboards, graphics cards, and accessories. Further, it applies EPEAT and EnergyStar logos to products that meet respective sustainability criteria.

Now that ASUS Spain joins as an Open Icecat sponsor as well, it benefits from the unlimited syndication of all its product content to any of its local channel partners. Thus, ASUS Spain invites its e-commerce partners to collect its standardized content from Open Icecat, free of charge. Here, retailers can download ASUS’s digital assets, product specifications, marketing texts, product images, brochures, feature logos, and rich media assets. To protect its channel partners, ASUS licenses Icecat to syndicate its copyrighted materials to any of its channel partners.

ASUS syndicates content to Amazon

ASUS Spain also uses the Amazon Feed Specification (AFS) connector. To support a data push via Icecat into Amazon’s consumer electronics category. Through Icecat, the AFS requirements for data completeness are met. Vendors like HP and LG already make use of this connector.

The latest AFS connector version allows for the publication of a high volume of products in single batches. Including product images. So no need for vendors any longer to upload their images separately via the manual Amazon Vendor Central interface. For vendors that need to publish price information as well, this can be done via a separate feed.

Benefits for ASUS resellers

As mentioned before, the ASUS product content is available for free for any of its channel partners. ASUS takes care of the completeness and accuracy of product datasheets in co-operation with Icecat’s editorial teams. Furthermore, ASUS product content is always timely available, ensuring resellers are up to date and won’t display obsolete content to their buyers. Finally, the ingestion of production into a reseller’s e-business platform can be fully automated with XML, JSON, or other standard APIs. Add-ons to popular e-commerce platforms are available as well.

Are you an ASUS reseller? Then, use your Icecat account to download its free product content as well. Or, in case that you don’t have an account yet, please register online, and contact your local Account Manager, or contact us online.
