In 2021, 100 of the world’s largest online marketplaces sold goods for $3.23 trillion. These 100 marketplaces account for more than 90% of the global marketplace sales. According to Digital Commerce 360’s data, sales through platforms like Alibaba, Amazon, eBay, and others accounted for two-thirds of worldwide e-commerce sales last year.
Despite the fact that the top online marketplaces — Taobao, Tmall, and Amazon — account for more than 60% of the Top 100’s gross merchandise value of $3.23 trillion, other online malls continue to climb to prominence, earning share by swiftly growing.
