NEW: Introducing Product Story 2.0

During 2022, the Icecat Studio team was busy developing a brand-new solution for the product story asset. As a result, we are proud to release Product Story v.2.0. The next generation of Product Stories in Icecat.

A product story 2.0 is a below-the-fold content page with a custom layout of multimedia and messaging assets that give the best product experience to an online shopper.

Product Story Version 2.0

Product story version 2.0 enables the seamless integration of a product page, as well as the seamless integration of individual content elements without the need to use frames or iframes. Icecat hosts all content elements in a storage cloud and displays the content instantly via Icecat Live on the partner’s side.

The key advantages of Product Story 2.0:

  • New WYSIWYG editor. The editor allows users to create Product Stories within minutes, without any HTML knowledge, and to publish in near real-time.
  • Brand access. Every brand can access our Icecat Studio and control the distribution of Product Stories to the channel. Make changes, match stories with more SKUs and instantly publish them to the channel. In addition, there is the possibility to create brand-specific layers with only desired modules for brand users.
  • Custom fonts. Channel partners can now use their own font and adjust the font size if needed.
  • Standardized modules. The modules in the Product Stories are standardized and grouped by types of layouts and multimedia assortments. The channel partners can switch off modules they cannot use in the story section.
  • Responsive pages. The Product Stories are responsive. So no matter what device the user uses, the page layout will be automatically adjusted. As a result, it will give online shoppers the best comfort and experience.
  • New output formats. The latest version has more output formats. Users can embed the code on a product page without an iframe. The HTML code of the story is available in XML and JSON.
  • Better performance. With a unique lightweight Product Studio framework, there is better performance. The framework includes all necessary plugins, the init script has a size of 5.4kb (gzip), analyzes blocks used for a particular story page, and pulls only the necessary .css and js. This will eventually reduce the overall size of the story.
  • Lazy load. There is a possibility to add a lazy load for delayed loading of media content. For example, images are loaded while reviewing the block on the page, a significant advantage for SEO.
