JD is the most significant player in the e-commerce market in this nation. Examples of other important online retailers operating in the Indonesian market are Shopee, Orami, Klikindomaret, and Bhinneka. A diverse top 5 that emphasizes several categories, including toys, fashion, electronics & media. Statista’s research report shows that Tokopedia is the leading domestic e-commerce site based on the number of monthly web visits in the first quarter of 2022. On the contrary, Shopee is the most popular international e-commerce site, based on the number of monthly web visits in the 1st quarter of 2021. Shopee is an online store with nationally-focused sales. Shopee.co.id is a comprehensive online retailer in terms of its product selection, with items available in a variety of categories like “Fashion,” “Electronics & Media,” and “Toys, Hobby & DIY.” However, its primary emphasis is on the category of fashion. In addition, Indonesian consumers are mainly interested in the categories of clothing and shoes. Alongside clothing and shoes, electronics is the 3rd  most exciting category for Indonesian consumers.

The consumer behavior related to brands that both male and female consumers value the most is smartphones. Other categories that attract both genders are clothing & shoes and pc/laptop (Statista Search Department, 2022).
