Iceclog 1 Million Visits – Tips for Blog Succes

Since the launch of the blog in September 2015, Iceclog got after four years more than one million web visits. 2019 was a peak year in terms of web visits with an increase by 105% compared to 2018.  What are the ingredients for a successful blog?

Tons of unique and relevant content

In total, you can find more than 300 posts on Iceclog throughout various categories like user manuals, daily news updates, reviews, stats, and topics like ICURY (ICY) and the Brand Cloud Portal. A lot of unique content, relevant for Icecat users and product information management (PIM) in general. The top 3 most-read posts of 2019 are:

  1. Manual for Icecat URL: Integrating Links to Product Data Sheets and Images
  2. Content Log and Playground for New Ideas like a Free Brand Cloud and Social Media Functions
  3. Manual for Open Icecat JSON Product Requests

48% of the visits read our post via a Google Chrome browser and 62% uses Microsoft Windows as an operating system and 11% use the Android mobile operating system. The reason for the low number of visits on a mobile device is that there are also professional manuals on Iceclog.com about the B2B services of Icecat.

Airdrops

The highest visitor peaks – to almost 10K daily visits – are caused by the so-called airdrops. Promotions in which free ICURY (ICY) are made available to existing and new users. The global crypto community responds very actively to such promotions.

Social Media Functions

Another major factor in the recent surge in visits and visitors is the addition of social media functions: groups, membership, social connections and social invites. Icecat has invited most of its users to join the Icecat user groups.

SEO and AMP

Last but not least, using the advices of SEO checkers, Google webmaster and applying both a mobile version and AMP (accelerated mobile pages) has led to an increase in organic search hits.
